SCHOOL'S HISTORY

Apostle Safo School of Arts and Sciences (GREAT ASSAS) was established in 1997 by the Proprietor Apostle Emeritus Professor Kwadwo Safo , Founder and Leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana.

Apostle Emeritus Professor Dr. Kwadwo Safo acquired the then Emmanuel Preparatory School and moved his school Apostle Safo Training Institute (ASTI) from his house at Taifa to Awoshie and changed the name to Apostle Safo School of Arts and Sciences (ASSAS) to give basic education to all children living within the Awoshie catchment and the nation at large.


In 2004/2005 academic year, the Senior High Department was established by Apostle Emeritus Professor Dr. Kwadwo Safo to run three (3) main programmes approved by the Ghana Education Service namely:

      » Science
      » Business with accounting option


In 2007, the Technical, Visual Arts and Home Economics programmes were duly introduced and approved by the GES. With the increase in programmes and number of students, hostel facilities were built to accommodate students. In 2012, the hostel facilities were converted into full boarding houses with state of the art facilities to make students comfortable and feel at home.
